About

... I'm Lauren, LJ, G$, whatever you prefer. This is my attempt to keep up - document things, thoughts, ideas. I live in Raleigh, work as an engineer, and play hard. At our house: me, the hubs, our pup Kilby and there's Lily the polar-cat. We are just keepin' on keepin' on, doing what twenty-somethings do.

It’s been a while since I have posted anything here… But I feel it’s important to share this nutritious dinner with the interwebs.

Because I’m an adult and I do what I want.

And today was a long day.

That is all.

She must be really good in bed.

RELEVANT.

…kind of. She talks about running. At least she’s right about one thing: a 7:00/mile pace is booking it.

Dear lord, please do not procreate.

I have no words. Just watch.

too much.  somehow her crazy math ACTUALLY got her pretty close to the right time when she first gives an answer (1:25 mark)… wow.

Good Idea

Seeding a pomegranate in a large bowl of water.  why didn’t I do this sooner?

Better Idea
Taking those succulent little seeds and dropping them in a double boiler of white chocolate and spooning them into bite sized nuggets.

Best Idea

Eating 4 of said pom-nuggets after the last round of baking and Christmas card addressing.

NOW I’m ready for Christmas!

Story Time

I’ll play along…

Last cruise I went on (with one of my girl friends, no boys allowed) made a stop in Cozumel.  After a day of margaritas and dos equis by the pool/on the beach, we made our way back to the ship by way of a self-guided bar crawl through all the port’s bars.

Last stop was apparently souvenir shop.

Don’t remember actually shopping, but once I sobered up I found a bag’o’goodies that I apparently bought. According to my partner in crime (who apparently has a better drunk memory than myself) the reasons I bought what I bought:

  • Shot Glass with a Jamaican looking surfer on it - for a BFF who collects them and had to have this one because she’s probably never been to Cozumel but I have and she’d like it so I’ll get it for her.
  • Two sombrero Christmas tree ornaments - one for me and one for her because this is the best trip ever and we’ll always remember it by our matching ornaments (note: said ornament is currently hanging on my tree!)
  • A wooden, hand-carved seahorse - for my hubs because I get to go on these trips and he doesn’t go. and he’ll put it on his desk and when people ask about it he’ll say “My wife’s been to Mexico 3 times and all I got was this wooden seahorse!” (note: seahorse is currently on the hubs’ desk in his office.  thats love, man)

Also, lost my camera at the checkpoint to get back on the boat.  Once we got the camera back (thank goodness someone was nice and turned it in), we saw pictures of ourselves wearing balloon hats posing with Mexican men in front of our ship.

Quality.

Next cruise is in March, and we are heading back to cozumel. Wonder what I’ll drunk buy this time?  perhaps a poncho?

Chrome Nanny

Seemed like a good idea at the time… But not so much now. All I wanna do is take a little peek at my dash - but no.

Found another Browns shirt I love. They are really hard to come by and this one is definitely not your typical Browns shirt. It’s also printed on an American Apparel shirt so it will be extra comfy.
They have other teams too…check them out!
Oh and enter “8BITHOLIDAY” at check out for 20% off. :)
You’re welcome.

Holiday Meal

Our office is having it’s holiday pot luck today. We don’t have an oven and everyone is currently fighting for microwave time to heat up their dishes.

I made broccoli casserole IN MY OFFICE (thank you crock pot).  I’ll be the one with a “warm-all-the-way-through” dish, not stressing out in the break room.
